Here are somme further everyday greetings and common expressions that you may care to practise:

Haud yer wheesht!
Dinna ken
Sir
Madam
How do you do

No, thank you
Excuse me!
Could you repeat that?

TOURIST TIP
To pronounce the Scottish 'ch' sound (as in 'loch', 'wee doch'n doris', 'What's up, doch?' etc.), place one half-stick of freshly cut celery (4¾ins.long) in the mouth, at right angles to the tongue, ans stand well back from those you wish to converse with.
In summer months rhubarb may be used instead.
